Emily screamed out loud as Haylie's voice echoed in her mind. But as she did, she fell backwards as she went under the spring. She swam back up quickly as water splashed everywhere. Her eyes flashed red. (If you look in the mini plots you'll understand why that happened)
"Ugh! What's your problem?!"
she yelled.

((I read the mini plots thing. So what, she's being controlled by something?))
Haylie didn't move.
I don't have any problems. At the current time, it is only you that has a problem.
She replied calmly.

((Yeah.))
"Oh, you are so dead-"
she yelled, ready to hit Haylie but then her eyes shown back to a lavendar color.
"Huh? Oh- Ohh..."
she moaned, feeling slightly dizzy holding her head.
"Wh- what?"

Haylie hadn't moved the entire time. She had simply watched inquiringly, wondering if this usually happened to humans.
Well, your eyes turned red and you started yelling at me, then you threatened to kill me, then your eyes turned back to lavendar and then you asked what happened and then I told you.
She told the girl.
Yup, that about sums it up.

"Oh no, not again!"
Emily said.
"I'm sorry, something.. just something weird is going on..."
she repsonded to Haylie.

Haylie nodded.
I can see that.
She replied.
And it's fine.

Emily nodded back to Haylie once.
"What's your name, by the way? You probably heard mine earlier. I'm Emily."

I'm Haylie.
Haylie replied. She wondered why she wasn't just talking out loud, but decided that she would continue telepathing for a while, as it was much quicker. And she never could get her tongue around some of the sylables. Speaking was for humans, and she was not a human.

"Haylie? That's pretty."
she commented.
"And you're a mermaid. That's interesting. I never met a mermaid before."

Haylie smiled at Emily's first comment.
Thank you, so is Emily.
She replied.
And yes, I am a mermaid. But unfortunately, I'm also part human. Stupid curse.
The last part was more talking to herself than anything, but it was still projected so that Emily could hear it.

"Thanks!"
she said, as her tail was swaying.
"Ohhh. Even more interesting. So you were cursed?"
she asked, putting her hand to her chin and her ears perked up.

Haylie signed.
Yes.
She replied sadly. She looked down at her tail fin and splashed it around in the water, wishing that it would never go away. But she knew that as soon as she got out of the water, it would separate to form two human legs.

"You wouldn't mind me asking how, would you?"
she asked Haylie. She was quite interested in how she was cursed.
"I would like to know..."

Not at all.
Haylie replied. Most people asked her how and why she was cursed, so she was used to it.
I was swimming around one day, exploring sunken ships and such, when I saw a glowing light. There was the entrance to a cave and I went it, but of course, it had to be the cave of a sea witch. She said I was tresspassing and there was a big flash of light.
Nothing seemed to have happened, so I swam away a fast as I could, thinking I was lucky that she didn't do anything to me. I told some people in my clan about it and they banished me because they thought I would bring them bad luck or something.
Anyways, they drove me out of the water, and when I went on land I turned into a human. It was horrible. It felt like someone put a plastic bag over my head. I could hardly breath, and I couldn't walk.
Since then I've learned how to breath on land and walk around and stuff. Then, when I go back in the water, I turn back into a mermaid.
She told her. It was a very long story.

"That must've been awful.."
Emily said, thinking how she would've been like if something like that happened to her.
